the path of tarot

the path of tarot

Tarot is something I have dabbled in for years. In a world where it’s easy to feel lost, I have always gravitated toward the mystical to find clarity. Or perhaps I have turned to these realms when the answers to my questions felt just out of reach. Life moves fast—too fast sometimes—and when it feels impossible to keep up, any guide, any small light in the dark, feels like a gift.

Feeling lost is something we, as a society, tend to label as bad or lesser, as if uncertainty is a flaw that needs correcting. We are so preoccupied with knowing, with being certain, with having a plan. Maybe it’s the creative in me, but I have spent so much of my life in that in-between space—adrift, behind, caught in the swirling unknown. And yet, I’ve come to see these moments not as failures but as invitations.

When I feel lost, I look to the things that remind me of who I am and why I am here. Tarot is one of those things.

Tarot is not about having all the answers—it is the pause before the answering. Like that moment in conversation when, instead of reacting on impulse, you take a breath in, a breath out, and choose your response with intention. It is a mirror, a signpost, a map—not telling you where to go, but helping you see the paths already unfolding before you.

This is also why I started oki nami. I wanted to offer this tool to others who feel lost or adrift in the abyss. For me, tarot has been an act of self-honesty, a beacon of hope, a connection to my deep inner knowing, and a signpost in unfamiliar terrain.

One of the most interesting things about reading for others is witnessing that "ah, yes" moment—the recognition of a truth they already knew deep down. Whether the message is light or heavy, there’s always this moment of understanding: the answers were never outside of us. They have always been there. But sometimes, it takes a tool like tarot to look truth dead in the eyes.

And only when we do that—only when we accept what is—can we change the outcome. Or change ourselves.

Acceptance is always the way. From there, we stand in our power. And from there, we create real, lasting change.

Tarot doesn’t give you what you lack. It simply holds up a light to what has been within you all along.
